Topsail Island Fishing Report February 2018

It’s February 19, 2018 and I am at Topsail Island once again. Fishing is still dead, however, a couple of people have caught Red Drum at the New River Inlet.

The pier isn’t open yet and nobody is fishing at the sound side park.

Over the next couple of days I will take some shrimp and bottom fish for Red Drum at New River Inlet and see if I can catch anything. It is supposed to be 74 degrees for the next few days – if anything begins biting, I’d like to be the first to find out about it. Everyone is saying there are no fish, but nobody is fishing!

I’ll go give it a whirl. If I catch anything I will update this post.

Out in the ocean – if you have a boat, a guide service or get onto a charter, people are catching Red Drum and Mahi offshore and Wahoo out in the Gulf Stream.

Stay tuned to this page for my next Topsail Island Fishing Report.
